Starting problems ?

i changed the plugs and seems to fire up a lot better now

turn key to IGN leave it for 5 seconds, so fuel pump primes, then fire her up..

see if she fires better like that..

I may be wrong but on these engines The fuel pump doesn't prime unless the starter motor is engaged. Ie it will only prime if the engine is turning over.

prime as in ready to pump fuel through the system, so all the electrics all working..

when you do that, you can usually tell its an earthing issue, which mine was..

coolant temp sensor is a favorite for causing a rich mix from a cold start... lumpy idle.. etc

Cant recall whether it throws a EML if it fails tho!

It does throw the light because mind come on

my eml has gone off now , swear my car is literally on crack it has a mind of its own !!

Mine exactly the same I just had the head done and new valve springs etc

And the guy snapped the temperature sencor plug of so he used 2 prongs that slot over the teeth so it reads temperature but....

My EML is no on rilli struggles to start but when warm first time

U can smell loads of petrol when it eventually starts ?????

Get a new temperature plug ??? Or swap the prongs around ?????

yes can smell fuel when it first starts , always smells like fuel on tick over my local performance garage said its probably due to the size of my injectors , where is the temp plug situated ?

Hello mate done a recent post on my problem and

I did EML TEST and shown code 22

This was my temp sensor

One of my wires snapped off the plug ( disassembled and soldered put back together )

Problem SOLVED :D
