Sefton-EP91 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Would it have a bad effect If I was to heat wrap my intercooler pipe coming off the inlet manifold?i don't really like the chrome piping.. Lol Quote

AdamB Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) You dont want to heat wrap it, you want reflective tape! Heat wrap is designed to contain heat within. Where as relfective tape will push heat away from the component which is ideal for cars with high under bonnet temps where this can affect the intake air charge temps. Sefton-EP91 Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 This I also thought but didn't think it would make much difference.. ? Quote
AdamB Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) Mmm it does, there was a guy who did a test on it using a digital thermometer in different engine bay locations, makes for a good read I'll see if I can find it. Here matehttp://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=3117876 It makes a different, but depends really on your setup. Edited March 18, 2013 by AdamB Quote
Jamie1st Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Check my build (not updated in ages),. but I've wrapped mine in heat wrap, not only does it keep heat in exhausts, but also stops heat transfering from the bay into the pipe Works both ways, not just to keep heat in, but keeps it out too! Quote
Danb Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I've wrapped the cold side of my intercooler pipe work in this http://www.tuningdevelopments.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=330&osCsid=mlu01pcdp7viuqlqlrmej1tie5 Quote
