starletburkie
cheers mate! having awful problems with boost atm with it opening at .85bar one time and at one bar the next min! if i run much gain it fluctuates all over the place with a .6bar spring in it atm, had it all spot on holding a full bar through out the revs and now its tempermental lol had to bring the gain back down Edited April 1, 2013 by starletburkie

starletburkie
Blitz dsbc id dc!
jakeep82
got a link to it mate i have a blitz sbc id dont know whether settings will be same ?
AdamB
I'm 99% sure the springs are the same mate, or can be interchangeable. Not a fan of the Blitz DSBC units, I had a solenoid fuck up on me and wouldn't control boost at all, kept overboosting.
starletburkie
They work by percentage so may not be far off deending on what setup you have mate! Google the dc version! There quite rare! May try a .8 bar spring and see what happens!
AdamB
Ay mate I know how they work, but even at like 5 boost pressure and 0 gain it would overboost past 1.2 bar lol. Chucked it in the bin in the end, a new solenoid was worth about as much as a whole new EBC.
starletburkie
So you rekon its the solinoid that's fucked? Had it out this mornin and with the gain up it would spike to 1bar go back to .9 and creep upto a bar up the revs
starletburkie
gain would be set at 10 gain and 25 gain for example now, wasn't fluctuating today it was just a quick spike, very funny how it does change what it does
AdamB
What turbo is this one mate? I wouldn't say the solenoid is fucked if your able to control it to some extent. Probably just needs fine tuning, remember the colder weather will have an effect as well.
starletburkie
td04 mate! drove home from work there and it was spot on! 1 bar through the revs wtf like lol
AdamB
Seems to have a mind of its own! I'd probs drop the gain down a couple of points mate and see how it goes.
starletburkie
If I drop down the gain the wg opens too soon and boost creeps! I can get it to hold a bar spot on at 24% gain! I'll be driving it later I'll see how it goes
AdamB
You shouldn't get creep with a lower gain, it should only creep if the gain is set too high. When its too low it will just take a little longer for the wastegate to open, meaning a tad more lag.
starletburkie
I fully understand that mate, with gain at 10% it opens at .85bar and creeps up to a bar up the revs, with gain at 24% it opens at a bar and holds spot on! What I don't get is when it fluctuates when it decides to take a mood swing lol
Ollieh17
Anyone confirm the springs are the same? Will tial/ ebay 38mm wastegate springs fit in a turbosmart gate?
_shaun_
i have a ebay jobby fitted to mine now. i just measured the turbo smart spring and emailed a company asking if they had any 1.2 bar springs with a diameter of blah blah
