b16a2 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Ive heard the glanza have thinner rods but im not sure if that's true Quote
DevonGT Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I don't think there's any proof their weaker because of it though. Quote
Turbo Goose Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 There was a thread somewhere on uksc with pictures comparing the two Quote
ryan lang Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I don't see why anyone complains, it's the pistons that are shit in all if them! Quote
Asad Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Both the same, iirc someone had them tested glanza rods are thinner but made of stronger material As Ryan said, the pistons are the weakest point if fueling/boost/timing isn't spot on Quote
morgey Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Its true toyota did it with the 4AGE's as well, but if your not revving the tits off of it i wouldn't worry. 4ages are ok on stock rev limits 8400rpm(ish) if i want to rev more i want to put shot peened silver top rods or forged aftermarket rods in.As ryan said seems the ringlands on the pistons would usually go first. If your doing the rods change the pistons for forged and visa versa ;) Quote
