Ignition Upgrade? COP or uprated Coil?

Recommended Posts

As above think i need a new coil on the glanza as its hesitating on full boost at about 4-5K and hasnt gone away even after i changed everything ignition related (Bar the coil)

Is any of the MSD Ignition stuff relatively plug and play for a better spark? or is there any other decent ones?

And also if i wanted to go COP is it possible on a P&P Ecu or is it a lot of chew?

Thanks

Chris have you tried turning the boost down to 0.8 and putting the stock ecu back in there? to see if the hesitating stops!

I have a feeling it could be the KS-ROM ecu thats causeing the hesitating

Worth a try

Someone posted up a gadget that he was planning on fitting which helped to increase spark strength and quality but in all honesty replacing parts should fix it.

Micky do you mean it could be fuel related rather than ignition?

Well i've been for a blast in chris's car when he had the ct9 on and it seemed to hesitating around 4-5k then go mad all the way to the red line!

I just think it could be the map on the KS-ROM abit like the mk1 focus RS they have a 5k missfire all on the 03 models due to the map ford put on them! the only way to get rid of the 5k misfire on a RS it to get it mapped! But that cant be done on the KS-ROM

Yeh its the same problem mick! Doesnt do it all the time though its like if you catch it off guard. Doesnt miss it just goes fluffy for a second or so then goes like fuck!! Swapped a coil with phil today and i would sat it feels better, but it did it once in about 20miles.

Its only in the higher gears on a pull from low revs, thats the only time i can notice it!

And yeh i have always had a feeling it was the ks rom, giving it so much fuel lmao.

Nees to take you out in it mick see what you think!
