Superlite Ltd
Within the next year im looking to sell my 1.6 16v vauxhall corsa and get a toyota starlet glanza turbo. Think that is an EP91 yes? Just a few questions..What bhp are they as standard? What psi do they run as standard? At what psi does fuel cut start? What are they like to insure?I have spent about £400 on my corsa to get it near 130bhp. Still takes about 8 seconds to get to 60mph
montanajr
Standard bhp: 133hp (6.9secs to 60 for a GT, apparently glanza's are a tiny wee bit slower)Standard psi: hi boost = 9.4 psiFuel cut: 12psiInsurance: I'm 18, 1 yr NCB, 1 yr Driving, Fully Comp : £1500 with Elephant.co.uk
Superlite Ltd
Plenty fast then So i assume if you get near fuel cut then your running too lean and could get detonation? Bigger flowing injectors needed then? What power can you get on OE internals without buying forged pistons etc..I really can't wait to get one. Anyone near Aberystwyth want to take me for a drive in one?
montanajr
Simplest mods for increasing boost are a Fuel Cut Defencer and Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator, which should be run together otherwise you'll run lean. Replacing injectors and fuel pump aren't necessarily needed if your running slightly over stock boost, but if you can afford to you might as well! Think, chances are that fuel pump/injectors have been on the car since it was made! So worth changing anyway...Everyone seems to go forged with a TD04 setup, which sees over 200hp so I'd reccomend forging if you plan on breaking the 200hp barrier just for peace of mind really...I'm miles away, so no luck! lol
Glanza_Ragger
People have run well over the 200bhp mark on standard internals on a TD04 for years with out any damage.Just have to make sure its mapped well and you'll be laughing.Obviously forged will be youre safest bet if youre going over the 200bhp mark. There dead easy engines to tune and get extra ponys out of bud. What ever you do though, dont just buy one, and crank the boost up silly. Superlite Ltd
To be honest, anything near or over 150bhp would do me
Glanza_Ragger
To be honest, anything near or over 150bhp would do me 150 will be easily obtainable bud Exhaust and decat, air filter , and uprated actuator with slightly higher boost should see you getting that figure
Superlite Ltd
Easy as that Now to find a decent one to buy
Glanza_Ragger
Easy as that Now to find a decent one to buy Shouldnt be too hard bud.Keep an eye on our cars for sale section, and also ebay.Theres lots of mint ones on there. But tbh, most dealers on there are ripping people off now.Try and find a mint , well looked after one thats being sold privately Good luck bud, you wont be dissapointed by the starbo
Superlite Ltd
Out of interest, what would you expect 0-60mph to be with 150bhp?My house mate has a tuned n/a 2.0 16v corsa with 200bhp and he hits 60mph in under
Superlite Ltd
Not intending on keeping up But just out of comparisson. Thanks for the welcome
