Raz
My old baby! Are you the one I sold it too? I love this car so much, it will he shame to see it broken for spares. I got it resprayed locally so I may be able to help with getting paint code matched. I'm not sure what the matey said, I think he said he went fr OEM paint so it's easier to find matching parts. Not too sure though. I can visit him and ask if your really stuck with the door.

Paint code would be brilliant yeah, what's the name of the paint shop?
Raz
Nah I sold it to a matey in fleet, who would be 30+? This explains why I don't see it in fleet anymore. He Threatened me many times to take the car back because he can't get MOT lol because of decat and wanted to sue me LOOL. He was funny fella. He also had a 106 which he tried to part ex.He seemed like he hasn't m
Raz
(iPhone fail) He seemed like he didn't have much knowledge of cars. The paint shop is I think Ash Coachworks I'm not sure though I can search when I have time at home. Indeed the rear custom spats were moulded into bumper you won't find another like this. The gearbox problem happened while I owned the car. After attempting a few top speed runs it started popping out of gear I managed 161 on GPS device before it popped out of gear and over time or worse and started popping out every time you went near throttle. It is a monster car love it too bits, but I got a Mercedes at the time to have some RWD fun but it wasn't power full enough so I got a 3.2 CDI merc and remapped it and that was good RWD FUN but crashed it due to some cunt pulling out at roundabout. Now I've ended up in a Audi a3 :S also remapped but nothing special. I was looking at starlets for sale because I'm missin out on power and came across this If you go to my Facebook Raz Wan (picture of Audi A3) you will find more pics of the Starlet there somewhere Edited June 12, 2013 by Raz
Lew91
Ah I see, the bloke who I met up with to view the car was a ford specialist apparently, I never met the actual owner and he never told me about the gear box problem until I was home. I didn't mind really as I didn't really pay over the odds for it. 161 is suitable enough to allow it to go pop lol I'd be happy with that I've had it rebuilt now any way so should last a while. I've heard of ash coach works, not sure why tho. Was the rear spats your idea? Ah feckers! Mind you probably best thing for the merc lol I'll have a search for you now. Raz
Thats a shame about him not telling you about gearbox fault. I have a funy feeling the person that was there when you viewed the car was the owner. The rear spats were done by a guy I sold it too, and then I bought it back off him and he had been prepping it for paint but didnt finish it and I bought it while it looked like a cow (black and white with filler and primer etc) I'll put some more pics on my Facebook ands you can take them off there if you want. I did read through your build thread with so much time money and effort gone into it, I am confused why you want to get rid Edited June 12, 2013 by Raz
Lew91
Yeah I do to thinking about it now, he had a grin from ear to ear when I handed the cash over. Ah I see, good idea really it does set the rear of nicely. Cheers mate I'll have a look in a mo. Yeah I'm still keeping it for now and still working away at it. Obviously if some one makes an offer I can't refuse then I may take it but I want to finish it and see what the k26 feels like.
Raz
Yea I'm not surprised, after about a week or two he wanted urgently to get rid of the car and began his threats demanding cash or to take the car back.
Lew91
Hmm I'm guessing that was because he worked out how much the box was to fix/change. I asked him once I got home if he knew that it did it he said he thought it was some sort of racing box lol, I just said nah it's fucked lol. How much did he buy it off of you for if you don't mind me asking?
Raz
2,700 I think. How much you pick it up for?
Lew91
Ah not to bad then. I got it for £2k. He had the original ad out of a news paper to which then it was up for £3800.
Raz
It must have been £3,700 he paid for it lol.
Lew91
Lol he did say make me an offer so whent in with a low ball of 1800 to start but he said make it 2 and he's happy lol. I couldn't grumble at that.
Raz
Yh still a very good price you got for it, but doesn't really look like he took much care of her.
Lew91
Yeah the body's fine apart from the door obviously and there was 2 boost gauges in the pillar pod for some reason and some pretty bodged wireing lol. The interior needs a clean up but I've got plans for that and there's a hole on the dash, I'm guessing it was for a gauge pod. I've replaced all the trims that were carbon vynal wrapped to as I'm not the biggest fan of carbon.
Raz
The car always had 2 boost gauge and 1 AFR ever since I got it.In the centre on the top were 2 gauge pods where 1 boost and AFR gauge were and on the right was the digital boost gauge. I bought many interior trim parts as somewhere down the line it had a smoker owner and there was burn marks where he had been holding fag in his hand and melted the plastic. I don't know where the carbon wrapping came from as I tried hard to get clean standard parts. And when I got the car first time round it had no rear seats just some sound proofing stuff. I did go to my PC last night but I couldn't find any pictures, so in hoping it is in my laptop. I'll let you know if I find them
Lew91
Yeah I couldn't work out why it had 2, some one must of really loved boost lol. I've replaced them all with mint trims now so it's all good, the only one I couldn't get hold of was the one underneath the steering wheel. I'll be replacing the dash at some point to with a flocked one and moving the head unit to the glove box to make a bit of room for something fancy Cheers buddy ill keep an eye out for them, I did see the engine bay shot tho with the ct9 still on, it's changed a fair bit since then.
Raz
It was owned by some yobbo before i got it, and was a right mess. I always wanted a flocked dash lol.The engine bay was alot cleaner then aswell lol. Seen some pics in your build thread and it look so filthy, i am guilty of 1 or 2 bodges, You'll have to excuses the Rad bodge lol It was one of those days where you can't be fucked lol. Always wanted to fix that but never got round to it.
Lew91
Yeah it really did need a clean up, I'm aiming to get rid of the abs and the power steering has already gone so should look a lot nicer after a good polish. Still thinking about getting the bay sprayed tho as there is a few little rust spots I don't like. Haha I saw the rad bodge lol it didn't leak or anything tho so I just left it to. That sound proofing stuff in the back looks a bitch to get off as well so that's staying put lol.
Raz
The rad is about the only bodge i did to it, i did rip out a few things and not fully finish them, like air con and the air con evaporator from behid dash. and i don't remeber if i managed to win against the rear tow hook or angle grinded it off? if you going to keep it may as well clean the engine bay too. i am happy to say i didn't do the sound proofing in the rear. i probably wouldn't have bothered putting any there its full of creeses and looks shit. did you ever see this down in portsmouth i use to drive there everyday for uni like 1-2 yaer ago
