Building 5efte using 4efte and 5eblock?

Recommended Posts

Been covered plenty of times

http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?9694-Whose-done-a-5E-Conversion

Basically the only thing good from the 5E is the block and crank. Stock doesn't last long, the Jamaican's were using the thicker FHE rods which take more boost, the EFE rods are like chicken legs and you'll struggle to make anymore than 18psi reliably on them. They also swapped out the pistons for the 4EFTE ones for lower compression.

5e rods are supose to be good thick strong rods

over in jamaca they run the setup i said and getin serious power

As Adam mentioned, it's the 5EFHE rods that are strong, they're absolute beasts. The 5EFE rods are waaaaaanky, hence me getting FHEs for mine :)

I am unlucky that fhe engine and its parts are very rare in my country so i would like to use the parts you guys have said depending which is available here... As i am using 5efe now,so i would like to save money and buy 4e parts i need instead of buying the whole engine, the parts are

4fte head,piston and con rod,

5e block and bottom

3e flywheel to adjust 4efte clutch

Any other parts or thats it?

Some ques: approx how much max boost it would be able to take when i build this engine using these parts?and what about fueling and managing the engine?and will i face any difficulties matching these parts together?

You'll need :

5E block

5E/3E crank

5EFE/5EFHE con rods

4EFTE Pistons

4EFTE headgasket/Aftermarket

3E flywheel

4EFTE oil filter housing

4EFTE thermostat housing

4EFTE engine gasket kit

5E front and rear crank seals

4EFTE Or 5E head, but you need to use 4EFTE valve springs

Then the usual turbo, inlet, exhaust etc.

You'll also need some form of engine management and fueling mods.
