boost leak

Hi guys.

Silly question . been suffering creep bit also my turbo sounded loud. Looked at all my pipe work yesterday removed and refit a few pipes. Turbo has now gone quiet u can just hear it and creep seems less.

Was I suffering leak????

When theres a significant boost leak you will here a very high pitched whistle as a pose to a scream.

The whistle is the hall mark of a boost leak really.lol.

My starlet had one huge boost leak when my pipe blew of and it made me jump and i panicked as i heard the whislte and thought engine had failed.

My turbo was really loud. Now ive sorted u can just hear over exhaust note and induction noise. Is this right

She accelerates better now too

The noise thing depends on how loud exhaust is compared to induction or visa versa.lol

Even more confused now. Before was loud and kept creeping. Now not as bad but turbo whistles so can just hear it. Before you could really hear the turbo

To me it sounds like you had a boost leak and answer that in what you 1st wrote, a high pitch noise while boosting that's stopped when the pipes were adjusted to me is saying you had a leak then you fixed it by sorting the pipe work

Confused more now. Since getting rid of what I thought was leak my dash green lights are playing up on light throttle/boost.

Boost leak test It! Get an empty spray bottle put a bit of washing up liquid and water in it, turn the car on spray the joins and give it a rev and find the bubbles!
