any tricks for changing timing belt ??

ok guys trying to put my timing belt on is there any way to remove the crank pulley as ive tried everything I can think of to undo the bolt

I tried putting it in gear and holding brake while undoing the nut and that didn't work,

also tried putting something in one of the holes on the crank pully and levering against the chassis but it just lifts the engine

the way I have done it in the past when the engine is out of the car jam up the fly wheel and undo crank pulley bolt but im not removing the engine just to put a bloody timing belt on lol

anyone have any suggestions ?

cheers mikey but the ingear/brake trick only works doing up the bolt not undoing and I cant get my hands on a impact gun

Impact gun will do the job, I bought one from argos that plugs into the car, used it then took it back the next day without any questions asked and had my money back
