Glanza_Ragger
Then to really get any proper boost out of a td, you would want to look at getting stronger internals.People do run td's on standard internals but if it were me, id forge so you can boost higher. Shorty Phil
well on mine ive got ordered and awaiting delivery 74.5 ross racing pistones and a 1.4mm head gasket much better for higher boost and alot safer to run the higher boost

Or are you thinking about upping it at all? Also are you going to run the forged pistons with standard rods?
Shorty Phil
yeah forged with std rods mate ......I aint thought about the limietr at all yet tbh will my rods be good for a safe 250bhp as thats my aim in the end... also what is a safe limiter ? for the td04 setup ??? Shorty Phil
my aim is for my full setup to be safe and reliable....Engine will have full new gasket set pump and all pulleys are perfect the cams are mint and so is the crank.. I'm changing the big end and main shells aswell so the engine should be in A1 condition with any luck..
Glanza_Ragger
Well if youre doing all that work , id think about changing the rods whilst youre at it.You may as well when its apart, saves you time and hassle if you need/decide to in the future.Standard revlimit will be fine with a td04, allthough some people take it slightly higher becuase of the slight extra lag before the td boosts.Allthough saying that, there not too laggy so its all down to preference. If you decided to take the revlimit up, think about uprated valvesprings, lifters etc.Dont want to be upsetting the valves when youre revving harder Should be a nice build as the td's are proven to be brilliant turbos to run with.Which type of td04 is it bud? carter
i just had the wepr kit put on.that the one from toy tuning with the td04 turbo the parts was ok but the kit i got was missing a hell of alot of stuff ie the small thing like hoses and bolts and a few fitting which had to be haded up. it all so takes a hell of a lot of work to put this kit on. i would say yes the td04 is a killa up graded for the car but the down sided from what you need and the time it takes to put it on and the extra stuff you need very very pricie mod to do. but if you got the oney to burn i say go for it. it will put a smile on your face.
