ady2k5
Hello allI had me alarm and immobiliser installed yesterday, however the main unit has been put in where the oil dip stick is, this in turn causes a problem as i was checking me oil today and as i pull the dip stick out it rubs on its way out and therefore doesn't give an accurate oil reading. The place where i had me alarm and immobiliser put in stated that there wasn't a lot of space in the engine bay and he did spend a lot of time on it in total (2 full days labour)I've opened the oil cap and it seems ok, theres oil in there and its fairly new (judging by the colour). I'm concerned me oil may be low at some point and i may not get an accurate reading.Has anybody else got this problem or any way around this. Many thanks

ady2k5
take the car back to whereever it was fitted and call then cunts. then ask them to move it.I phoned the guy up and he said there isn't anywhere else he can move it too, there isn't much space under there. I've had a look myself and can't see anywhere else it can go unless you could recommend something.
Mart
Could try and relocate your air filter and put it in there instead. What kind of EP are you driving?

ady2k5
or relocate the battery to the boot and put it there.Phil.It would be quite inconvenient for me, can i not just get an idea of the engine oil by looking under the cap, surely if it doesn't look dry in there should be ok? Nanglebadger
thats not a risk that i would personally take, but maybe someone with more technical know-how than myself should be along shortly and can answer that for u man.Phil.
