scottmac1 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Is there Anyone about Aberdeen that would be able to look at my Glanza? Was driving the car Friday and the heaters just started blowing cold air not hot. Changed the thermostat today but no joy. ££ paid ofcorse! Quote
Gainzy Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Might be a case of replacing the heater matrix can't think of anything else it could be Quote
scottmac1 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Yeah really hope not! You local to Aberdeen? Quote
The_Notorious_C_A_T Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Check the lever rod that opens the vent just to be sure. As my old 82 did that then when I had a look noticed the rod has come off so moving the lever from hot to cold actually did fuck all lol Quote
Johnboy GT Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Heater matrix will piss water out, check your water level aswell. If it's dropped, fill it up and monitor it for a few days. Also as Jord says is it getting upto temp or going to high? John Quote
scottmac1 Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 The lever rod is there and working lol, and also topped up coolant. It's getting upto temp fine and holding half way on the gauge as it always has, been told it must be water pump as the heat ain't making it to the heater matrix? Quote
Jordk Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Are the pipes in the engine bay going through the bulkhead hot? If not then the water won't be getting to the matrix otherwise the lever rod wont be opening the vent as CAT said Quote
scottmac1 Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 Ahh I misunderstood the lever vent lol, that behind the centre console I take it? I haven't checked in behind there, yeah the two heater matrix pipes going through the bulkhead are hot.. Quote
scottmac1 Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) Checked the wire behind the hot and cold control and all is connected, only thing it canBe is heater matrix? As there's heat going into the bulkhead and coming out the outlet. Edited November 26, 2013 by scottmac1 Quote
