russ78
no if you just spinkle magical Christmas dust over the engine bay it will be fine joking aside if its a serious question your mate is probably pissing himself as you wont need a remap Edited December 12, 2013 by russ78

russ78
no never trust mates bud, use this forum as it is your starlet bible it is a wealth of information and will normally be able to answer any questions or concerns you have. are you running stock ecu and stock setup except for a fmic ? AdamB
Technically it is true, you will need a remap to make the most of what you have done, now because the air is going to be more dense and cooler it means you can increase the ignition advance to gain more torque. However there is no harm running it on a stock ecu.
russ78
in principle adam is right however nobody would ever remap a starlet after fitting a fmic or pretty much any turbo car after fitting a fmic
AdamB
Ecu's tend to be programmed with some form of compensation, so your able to get away with a few mods before going over the boundary. But as Russ said, another factor to consider is the cost, no one wants to be paying for a remap every time they change a small component.

Stu
Depends on your setup and but generally a quick road test with a wideband and det set will confirm everything is ok - more as a piece of mind thing if its a like for like change. As mentioned above generally most ecu's have a level of compensation related to IAT (providing they've been setup properly in the first place).
