djhasin Posted January 1, 2014 Share Posted January 1, 2014 ive got a no brand wastegate which came with my td04 kit and im guessing its from ebay as it has no brand name, it has a 0.4 bar spring as thats the pressure reading i get from my boost gauge. was wondering if i can replace the spring with a different one from ebay and will it work with the wastegate i have. I have a MBC but its absolutely crap as when the boost starts to kick in, it over boosts and hits the factory limit, and when i accelerate very slow it only increases the boost to about 0.5 bar. Zeldoz Posted January 1, 2014 Share Posted January 1, 2014 I also have an eBay temporary job. It was ok for a few weeks now it can't he boost. Consistantly on the edge of fuel cut. But, I know it's 3 years old and previous to me it was used with a MBC @ 276bhp so I'm guessing the spring could be worn..Would replacing the spring refresh the wastegate? Or is there more too it?
