EPnick22 Posted January 8, 2014 Share Posted January 8, 2014 Just bought a head from a member on here, was sold fully working etc etc but unwrapped it today once it was delivered to find that theres a residue build up round the 1st exhaust port, is this stem seals? the others are okay, just this one :/ shame really it means I have to fork out for stem seals and for someone to do it for me! zurgieSR Posted January 15, 2014 Share Posted January 15, 2014 not necessarily. Could of been the piston rings / headgasket from the engine it was removed from. But then again, could also be stem seals. if you can look on the seat of the valve you would have a better idea. If you do go for the seals, 16 stem seals from toyota work out around 110 pounds. They also do a headgasket kit which includes the 16 stem seals for a few quid less. (go figure ) Quote Link to post Share on other sites
