Forged engine compression

As titled I've noticed I'm losing a little oil and I'm getting white smoke at high rpm I'm thinking/hoping it's turbo related can someone tell me what the compression should be for 75.4mm low comp pistons?

Oil burns blue mate not white, white is water.

Anything higher than 140psi and within 14.5psi of each cylinder would be a good mark.

Might be worth getting a sniff test and a leak down test done.

Cheers Adam, what would cause oil loss? It's very minimal! There's no sign of leaking and my oil breather is dry!

Either valve stem seals or turbo mate, but they would both burn blue.

Are you sure its white smoke your getting?

What head gasket is on it, some people have proved that athena or mls head gaskets can be tricky to seal.

I'm not to sure tbh wouldn't I have a creamy build up on my oil cap if it was hg related?

Thats only if its excessive. Best to get a sniff test done to see if there is any CO in the coolant system.

If the deck of the block and surface of The head haven't been prepared properly can be a bitch the get them mls gaskets to seal, AdamB said get a combustion leak detection kit from a motorfactor. They don't cost much and will give a good answer to weither the head gasket is blowing

The problem is the headgasket I found I do have a slight creamy oil cap! tbh I'm just glad it wasn't the ringlands! Will I need to replace my head bolts if they are arp bolts?

Ideally you should be able to get away with it, but they should be measured for stretch.

Cheers Adam I might just replace them and if the old ones are alright to use again I'll use them in my other engine build! How my stretch before they are no good?

I don't know tbh mate would have to email ARP and ask them.

People have used them up to about 3 times but it's always best to measure them.

I've phoned Alan Jeffrey in Plymouth to find out what he would charge to change my hg he said £600 witch I thought was expensive I would do it myself but I'm working a lot at the minute and just don't have time! I'm doing a sniff test tomorrow to make sure it's the hg can anyone recommend any other local mechanics who are Trust worthy? I'd rather do it myself than pay £600!

Screw that, I had mine done for £250 at short notice. Look for a local independant garage, should do it a lot cheaper, but if your confident to do it yourself it isn't that difficult

mate i have the same problem..been 1000kms since i ran my car in and oil is burning away slowly..my friend said usually when i hit it a thin white cloudy smoke comes out of my exhaust

i was thinking the turbo to..i hope its not the head gasket..fml this cars a nightmare

I'd do it yourself buddy your only looking at a couple of hours with the right tools, easily done one night after work

I've done a compression test it's 160 a cross all four cylinders! I've found out that it's my turbo seals as I had a little bit of oil from the inlet side.
