Djaniero
yO guys.My starlets been parked up for the past few months.Recharged the battery and fired her up,with no issues. But when i took the key out of the ignition, the car stayed on and wouldnt turn off, period. Usually when i take the key out the ignition,my turbo timer does a 30 sec count down and the car turns off. But now it doesnt count down and the car stays running.I turned the turbo timer off, and even disconnected the battery, but the engine is still running??I had to stall the car in the end to switch off the engine.Have I got a dodgy turbo timer, or does it just need to be reset/ programmed.? Its an ms turbo timer which was fitted to the car when i got it, so i dont know much about it.Any ideas? Thanks
Jamie5414
Sounds like relay has gone inside it!
Breno58
Had the same thing happen to me a while back so i just disconnected the turbo timer from the loom under the steering wheel and it never happened again
Djaniero
Cool, I think i'd rather just disconnect and remove it as ive never felt the need to have one on cars i ve owned before. Is it easy enough to trace the wires to the loom under the steering wheel to disconnect it? Breno58
Where is your turbo timer located?
Djaniero
In the drivers side footwell mate. Could take a pic and post tomorrow if thats easier?
Breno58
All you have to do is removed the plastic panel under the steering wheel then follow the wiring from the back of the turbo timer up to the loom and disconnect it
