misfire stopped after battery disconnected

Recommended Posts

ok my car has been misfiring and spluttering for a few months. It happens when driven under 2000rpm only then its fine. So today i disconnected the battery for 20 mins then connected and runs perfectly. No probs. My ECU is a Blitz ECU, which I have had for 2 years with no problems. Whats going on guys??????

This coincides with how mine went away...

I installed my TD04 kit and it still was there. - I changed my clutch which involved removing the battery and reading your post ever since mines gone away too. Im still on a 4E-FTE ECU. Weird...

there must have been a fault code on the ecu that was never wiped off.

by disconnecting the battery for a few mins will reset the ecu and wipe of any stored fault codes.

If your engine management light comes on for 30+ seconds the code gets stored on the ecu and will not run right until it has been reset.
