richardc9052
Does it run if you change over all the ignition and other bits and pieces from the 4e onto the 5e?If it does run, does it run well/ good enough to drive? Is there a 5e ecu that I can just swap around without changing wiring but keeping sensors and ignition setup? Taggy
you can use the 4e ECU with the 5e engine.
AdamB
Yes you can, but wouldn't do it for long periods. A map tailored to your engine would be far better.
richardc9052
Yeah I'm just wondering because I might be getting a 5efhe or a 5efe. Not confirmed which he has but if it will run on 4efe ecu for now that would be great. I have an emanage to get it mapped if needed
AdamB
The 4EFE ecu I'm not sure I would use, because of the larger capacity of the 5E you need more fuel to get the correct mixture with the larger volume of air. The 4EFTE ecu will be ok to use since its a turbo and has more fuel flow.
richardc9052
It won't be staying n/a for long.. Just need it to run na without it blowing up for a few weeks..
Stu
Yes it will run fine, the ecu will use the oxy sensor to compensate to a degreeIve run a 5efte in s 2et ecu before which worked fine
