What about raising rpm on 4EFE-Turbo...?

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

I made some research all over the web... I know first I MUST upgrade my retainers. ok.

But now...I'm looking for a cheap/safe way to raise revlimit

cause I've a na 4EFE turbo (8.5CR, IHI VF14 turbo @ 0.8b, gemb, 11.0afr on boost) and my friend with 4EFTE (CT9 @ 0.7b, zisco exhaust manifold, TiAL external wastegate, 10.5afr on boost) is faster than me cause of it revs higher!

I'm juste looking about ~7500rpm (I've paseo cluster fitted)

I read about :

-Change the crystal of my ecu

-Buy a PrecisionTuning RL-1 for GEMB

But, changing the crystal has already been tested by a friend and he destroyed two engines.. at while yet it is a competent guy who rule his paseo for years and knows how to use a greddy...

So I don't really like it

the RL-1 option could works, but for around 100, the guy emailed me back than it's just a blackbox on the wire wo read injector signal and repeat it

I read somewhere (but I can not remember where) something about an electronic circuit consisting of diodes and simply controlled by the injector additionnal map of greddy blue ...

I asked myself, as I have an additional injector installed on my 4EFE if it would work simply by adding the right amount of fuel at the right place ...

Before trying, I expect some opinions, experiences, advice, coming from you :)

I think he does...It's the man who teach me all I know now...

He said "it's not working"... I'll re-ask him for more precisions ;)

But I'm sure he'z now doing 9800rpm easy on his 5EFHTE VF35 @ 17psi...thanks to Greddy EMU

In my case, I wondering 7500rpm on 4EFE-T 8.5cr

I've a Greddy emb

Uprated oil pump

Yeah I'll take a few video as soon as I can :)

For now, I'm wondering to swap my ecu for a 4EFTE one :)

What should I need ? are map sensor+ecu+knock sensor all I need to fit?

do I swap ignitor+distributor or does mine work If I wire It right place on the 4EFTE ecu?
