kevmcc90 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Anyone tell me what this does and if it's required? Got one on my top radiator hose. Quote
JamesP Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Have you get a separate water temp gauge in your car? Not the one on the speedo cluster but a aftermarket one? It's for a temperature sensor to be fitted for a aftermarket gauge. Quote
JLF88 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Water temp adapter. If you're running boost it's not required but it's best to have one, ideally hooked up to a gauge Quote
akyakapotter Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 It's so you can have an after market water temp gauge not needed if you don't want it Quote
kevmcc90 Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 It's on my standard radiator hose but gonna have to replace hose as had issue with it touching new manifold so was wondering if needed to re use this or not Quote
akyakapotter Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 If you have a water temp gauge then yes if you don't then no you can drill and tap the thermostat housing if you want to get rid of that tough. Quote
kevmcc90 Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 What would I need to drill and tap for? Will it not just be removed with old pipe? Quote
kevmcc90 Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Actually misread your reply there. If wanted a gauge I could just drill the housing. With u. Cheers Quote
akyakapotter Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Yes bud that's what I'm going to do when the time comes lol Quote
kevmcc90 Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Do you have an uprated radiator hose or just standard one at moment? Quote
akyakapotter Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) Stock rad hose Edited March 15, 2014 by akyakapotter Quote
kevmcc90 Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Cool mate hoping the upgraded one doesn't touch my manifold Quote
