sjbrowning7
Removed sump last week, sealed it up, no oil was leaking after resealing and test driving. Changed the oil filter then I started seeing after a little drive, oil leaking. I inspected it and it is quite oily just below the oil filter on the engine where the sump connects and also where the sump meets the crank area. Should I reseal the sump or does anyone think it could be something else? It only started after doing the sump and oil filter. The sump when I took it off had quite a lot of sealer on it around the area I am describing. I don't know if I may have disturbed anything? fiddlersport
Hello when you replaced the oil filter did you put a small coat of fresh oil on the new oil filter seal (rubber) and hand tighten the filter ? jack the car up and clean it then start the car up while it is jacked up and inspect fro drips ! should be easy fix, hope this helps
