euanTbone96 Posted June 7, 2014 Share Posted June 7, 2014 recently took the decat turbo and manifold off to replace them, while doing so I took the radiator and fan out for easier access, now when I drive the car, steam seems to rise from the radiator. Can't pinpoint exactly where though and the hoses and radiator are extremely warm however the temp gauge in the car only goes up to half way. any suggestions on what this may be? thanks Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Gainzy Posted June 7, 2014 Share Posted June 7, 2014 Use enough red coolant? You running higher boost pressure with stock cap...fan kicking in... It happened to me I just replaced the radiator usually when they discolour across the top there not far from being on their way out Quote Link to post Share on other sites
euanTbone96 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Share Posted June 7, 2014 filled the overflow tank up to in-between fill and empty! running standard boost (0.5 bar) don't know if the fan kicks in or not haven't left it that long because it steams up but i crossed the fan to the battery and it came on. also its a relatively new radiator in it about a year old.
