Adam M
Hi all!Need some 2nd opinions I was driving home when i gave the car a boot in 3rd , as i climbed revs i noticed a sudden small power loss.So i returned to eco driving as you do then noticed as i dip the clutch the revs shoot down ( car tries to stall) but was fine under loadI was then followed by a knocking noise coming from engine (quite loud)It sounds like a rod down below to be honest but my knowledge is only basic. The symptoms from crawling home ( about a mile) was a loud knock and revs dropping when changing gear. Oil light flickered a few times.Whats everyones opinion? Many thanksAdam
lee659
Sounds the same as my problem rod spun a shell....

Stu
Yeah sounds like a bearing has gone and possibly spun. Best to try and avoid running the engine any more incase it scores the crank or rod too much
lee659
Its most probably scored the crank anyway... driving it like that it will end up throwing a rod out the side of the engine.
Adam M
Ok thanks stu and lee , any idea what usually causes it to happen? There ment to be forged rods and the oil level is fineStrangeThanksAdam
teta
maybe its the oil pump if oil level is ok
