Soon to be Starlet ep70 owner

Hello everybody!

I'm Johnny 27yrs from Denmark. I'm about to buy a starlet ep70

I therefor have a few questiens - it's a 999 cc 1E I4:

Any advise on what I should look after is welcomed - defects etc
Is' it posible to swap the 4 speed gearbox to a 5 speed?
Would a 2E-TE swap be easy peasy plug n' play

Changing to 5 speed should be straight forward. A five speed box was standard in the GL.

Yep 5speed will bolt straight in, cv's will all fit etc.

2et will physically bolt in but you will need to either modify the turbo s engine loom to suit your carby chassis, or swap the whole lot over from a donor turbo s. You'll also need the fuel tank and lines (or run a surge tank and lift pump etc)

I'm hopefully off to take a look at it tommorow seems in very good conditions - and only 135.000km on the clock

The ultimate goal is to convert it to the 2E TE engine and make it look something like this - altough I wish for a more original look, and in the same colour as my Turbo MR2 AW11
