decdd19
Hi lads picked up this engine in the money as it's not gonna be in the car for long, manifold is removed as u look in through the ports u can see oil, I think, just wondering is there a simple fix? Keep in mind I'm not to worried how this engine runs as building a forged 5e... But will want to sort it if I sell it later if it's a problem
Glanza_Ragger
Looks like stem seals are gone, oil seeping down the valve.
decdd19
Might do them while the engine is out
fiddlersport
x2 what decdd19 said, also you can paint your engine and change other seals while its out
decdd19
Oh that was the plan clean an paint an if it needs an quick fix or cheap seals etc may aswell do it an it's right when I go to sell it
fiddlersport
check sump for rust and maybe re-seal for peace of mind, bottom block can look nice when painted crank seals is a good choice and them rockr cover seals. can paint cap cover aswell and rocker cover oh- them stem seals !!! If you want to go for the full monty then you can start to powder coat the metal bits which are small and easy to remove no end to modding and painting the engine bay lol
Glanza_Ragger
Id definately replace all the seals you can whilst engine is out. Much easier. Crank seals, overhaul the head with all new seals etc. Just because its better to do it now rather than struggle with it in the chassis
