Polson2k9
Hi, my glanza is tramlining alot and getting bad bump steer at high speeds. Alignment is spot on so cant be that, its drives perfect on smooth roads its just when you put your foot down over bumps, uneven road surfaces etc, doesnt feel right. Got 195/50r15 tyres so dont think its them, any ideas what would cause this?
Idrees
Worn bushes
Polson2k9
Cheers, thought it might be those.
Polson2k9
Will it just be the front bushes that are worn?
Idrees
I would start by replacing the lower arm bushes, both the front and rear bushes in the lower arms
daniel_g
Wouldnt hurt to fire a set of ball joints and track rods in aswell. If they are worn it gives the steering a distant floaty feel.
Polson2k9
So get the 2 front arm front bushes and which one of the rear? The rear beam mounting bush, the panhard rod to beam bush or the panhard rod to body bush?
Polson2k9
??
daniel_g
If it was me id replace the lower arms, they come with new bushes in them and its less fuckin about tbh. And a set of bottom ball joints and track rod ends. Then set alignment up.As for the back of the car theres a few bushes you can get which youve mentioned but they shouldnt affect the steering of the car unless they are totally fucked.Or get a full poly bush set and your sorted lol. Polson2k9
Should a full poly bush set for the front sort it out do you think?
Polson2k9
What kind of bushes do the lower arms come with? Is it the front arm bushes and the front wishbones aswell? Sorry if im sounding like an idiot not very clued up on cars lol
daniel_g
If its only worn bushes and you replace them with polys then yeah should sort it, but as i said could be ball joints etc worn aswell.Really needs inspected to see whats worn. And alignments gonna need done after doing any jobs like lower arms etc. Thats why its best to do the lot at once imo. Polson2k9
Yeh ill get my mate to inspect it this weekend, cheers
Polson2k9
Nothing is worn in the control arm. Only thing i think it could be is the rear beam mount bushes, one of them is creaking like mad.
