ID-Workz White Quadlight EP82

Recommended Posts

Heres a new build thread for my EP82 as the old one got a bit confusing. J

20th November 2013

I had been on the hunt for a decent White Quadlight for a few months before Aamir found this one for me. It was a bit rough on the edges (cracked bumper, flaking paint on wheels, brakes screwed) but it was a good base to start with.

Its a 96 N reg so one of the last EP82s registered, and it has a sunroof and ABS. All bonus points for me!

Uzzy was kind enough to take me to Essex to collect it.

The brakes were non-existent, I literally had to use engine braking for the 230 mile drive home! Back at mine looking a bit filthy:

First things first; brakes! Me and Aamir fitted new OE spec discs and pads with a pair of used calipers as the old ones were seized. We also used the opportunity to replace the front wheel bearings.

The next job was to replace the Blitz rep FMIC with a JP kit.

Just like most of my projects, this one also sat around for months doing absolutely nothing. I thought I would get back in to it by fitting a new set of wheels.

I had a spare set of 15 Sparco NS2s so they were refurbished in Metallic Grey and fitted up with Toyo T1Rs.

I also fitted an ID-Workz braided fuel hose.

I then thought it wouldnt be such a bad idea to get the car road worthy, so had an MOT done and bought road tax. Mileage read 134862 kms.

The paint was in need of a good clean, so I gave her a full hand polish using AD Euphoria which worked a treat.

Here's a few before and afters.

Once I had done that, Aamir swapped the Sparcos with a set of 15 Grids from my Glanza. I thought they suited the car more than the Sparcos, so they stayed put.

Next was an ID-Workz Gear linkage bush kit. Old vs new:

The rear gearbox mount was showing signs of wear so a full set of Powerflex engine/gearbox mounts went on. Thanks to Aamir once again as he did most of the work. He also fitted a MPH converter.

5th October 2014

Over the Summer we had the bodywork tidied up for Japfest 2 and JAE.

The edge of the rear quarter panel and bumper had some shoddy paintwork in the past, so the full quarter panel and bumper were given a fresh lick of paint.

The Toms bumper was in a state too, and I really fancied the look of the Livesports Type A rep front lip. I bought an OEM front bumper and we had that painted along with the front lip.

The side skirts and rear spats were also given a fresh lick of paint at the same time.

A week before Japfest me and Uzzy went on holiday, so once again Aamir had the pleasure of fitting a few parts.

First up was another brake change consisting of:

  • ID-Workz Performance Front Discs
  • ID-Workz Performance Rear Discs
  • EBC Red Stuff Front pads
  • EBC Ultimax Rear Pads
  • New rear wheel bearings and seals
  • Brake fluid change
  • Paint all calipers Black

The OEM radiator was replaced with a shiny new ID-Workz Radiator package:

  • Slimline fan
  • ID-Workz S/S Mounting brackets

· OEM Mat set

· Replaced drivers side window motor

Once all that was done, she was up and running sweet and then went off to have vinyls done.

Cheers Nicholai, the Tom's bumpers do look awesome indeed.

Calum yes, the braided fuel lines are on our website.

Today I gave her an oil and filter change and fitted a new set of NGK plugs (speedo shows 136,380 miles). I also got her tax'd as I plan to actually drive it.
