matthew ep91 Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I have steam coming from the rocker cover and my pcv valve. The pcv is vented to atmosphere . Is this normal ? Quote
mikey4410 Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 definately not.do a compression test and it will give u answers. Quote
gazza g Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Pcv valve opens under vacuum so shouldn't be to atmosphere anyway Quote
matthew ep91 Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 Its only a tiny bit. It goes away after a few moments it doesnt do it all the time Quote
gazza g Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Even so could indicate ring failure, might be best to get it connected back up to the inlet mani or run a catch can setup, get a compression test done for peace of mind Quote
matthew ep91 Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 Funny as u say that I never seen it before until I blanked the pcv valve on the inlet Quote
matthew ep91 Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 Yes the breather filter on the rocker cover. The steam is minimal tbh Quote
gazza g Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Just make sure it's not full of gunk preventing proper breathing Quote
matthew ep91 Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 I cleaned the filter .connected pcv valve back up . Seems spot on now. My mechanic said its will b fine he said if it was rings it would be spitting out oil and smoke. Quote
