AdamB Posted June 23, 2015 Share Posted June 23, 2015 Yes you need to block off the original internal wastegate.Best place for them is off the merge collector on the manifold, no sharp bends it should have a nice radius flow to it, otherwise it will cause all manor of boost control issues. Weld a nut on the back side of the flange and use a bolt and locking nut to hold the door closed. Here is the external gate setup that I made for some inspiration.
