J40k-mo
Are there any common fault with the 4efte engine with a top end rattle? Revs up and sounds like there's marbles in rocker cover??
Calum122
Yeah, because the engine is not a true twin cam system, the intake came is under tension. When removing the cams many forget to put the service bolt in and as such unspring the intake came. Take the rocker cover off and turn the cam shafts till you see a hole in the cog. You should be able to see right through that hole through both cogs. If they are miss aligned you will only see through to the where the cam gear splits. If it has been removed and not retensioned you will have to take off the intake came and retension the cams. Not a hard job at all and is a common for an amatuer to miss this.
