glanza ep91 23
I'm thinking of getting a cusco diff 1.5 way and there's two types rs and mz. What's the difference between the two?
AdamB
Go for the MZ, the RS uses springs which are tensioned to set the initial torque the LSD will bite at.The MZ uses cones, which provides better response, less friction. It's a bit noiser is a downside.
glanza ep91 23
Thanks because I'm looking for a fast road/drag diff and the mz looks like the better option
AdamB
The MZ is the most likely choice I've ever seen people use tbh. It will be better for your plans as it takes a little more torque to engage the diff. Another option could be a Kaaz diff.

glanza ep91 23
Aswell with the cusco diff u have to bed them in properly how do u bed them in correcty and what gearbox oil shold I use
AdamB
Use a good quality 75w 90, something like Motul, Redline, Millers, Fuchs. I don't think Cusco actually state a specific oil to use, but a good brand will do the trick. Yes you have to bed the plates in, otherwise they get a chamfered edge and this is what causes them to clunk and chatter at low speeds. You bed them in by doing figure of 8's, for 30 mins. You'll also need to change the oil straight after the bedding in to remove any swarf from the box. Don't forget as well to make clutch type LSD's last longer they need regular oil changes. Bean
this should be helpful for info. http://www.cuscousainc.com/downloads/dl/file/id/190/cusco_lsd_guide.pdf my mates gt has a plated cusco diff its very noisey at slow speeds and tight corners, i wouldnt like it if it was my daily car tbh but it depends what you use the car for i guess. Maybe his could do with being bedded in again it might improve it a bit i dont know.
