JDMfreak
as above since I converted the starlet from a 2ee 12v injection to 4efe 16v the fan has been on constant ive basically swapped the entire looms dash and engine bay the car is running a1 and everything is working as it it should I did have to swap ecu out for a 4efe one as far as im aware its for a soleil as it has the little black casing around it things ive checked so far new fan switch in thermostat housing still onbridged the air con switch located behind passenger headlight also even tried a proper air con switch and still running only thing that stop it is if I remove the relay in fuse box in engine bay or the 20amp fuse in same fusebox anyone got any other ideas im stumped and cant figure it out Edited October 18, 2015 by JDMfreak
5e colin
??? you checked the usual so i would use a multimeter to trace your line down where its bridging/touching earth it is got to do with your wiring somewhere when you wired the loom in
JDMfreak
I dont have a multimeter i may get one i ve a fuuny feeling its to do with relay or something as the minute you even tip of the relay in fusebox it comes on aIm gonna check all the earths againThe loom and dash came from a soleil Starlet so its not chopped or spliced in anywhere
5e colin
cant be doing wiring like that on a car without 1 your wiring blind 40e gets you a good
JDMfreak
there wasn't much wiring to be messing with everything plugged together the loom and dash loom were from same car I just swapped it from one car to mine its something very simple as relay is clicking open the minute I put it near the pins in fuse box
JDMfreak
right update on this ive checked the ac switch located down beside battery this one im getting no ohm readings well I don't know what to set it at tbh I tried all the ohms settings I have ac relay in aswell and both ac fan relays in small box in front of fuse box in aswell I did try a power tester bulb only one of the 4 pins in ac switch shows a live im still stumped to why the fan is going only way it stops is if I remove 2nd from bottom 20amp fuse in engine bay fuse box or the relay for fan in fuse box any other help would be much appreciated
JDMfreak
right some progress on this its sorted had a mate look a look at the fan being constantly on he did some checking figured I had a wiring issue between ac pressure switch and rad fan switch basically what he did was the solid lime green wire at the pressure sensor is the radiator fan signal wire to activate or stop the fan turning on he cut the earth wire at the rad fan and joined it into the ac pressure sensor wire the lime green one which runs back to rad fan switch in thermostat housing basically when the rad fan sensor in thermostat housing melts the wax inside the switch creates and earth and the fan kicks in as the temp drops the earth is stopped as switch has closed and fan stops going. tested it to see if it worked right and it did temp gauge sat half way then fan kicked in temp gauge dropped not much but enough to cool the temperature and fan stopped let it do this a few times and worked each and every time and now when ignition is turned no more fan going flat out
