ChrisLeeBoost Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Hi guys I'm new to td04 setups so just wanted to see if anyone could give me a complete run through of what I will need and how to set it up, I will be running td04L turbo, wepr forward facing manifold setup, apexi cat back exhaust, autobahn intercooler, fcd, fpr and that will be it for the time being just until I can afford piggyback ecu, I just want to know how to setup the likes of oil feed and return and How to setup boost properly what will I need for that? Boost controller and actuator? Bit of a noob with td04 setup so any advice greatly appreciated thanks lads scratching my head with a lot of things 😩😩 Quote
5e colin Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 local engineers that does hydrolic hose can make you a hose up they go cheap use a oil resistand hose for oil return you can run like 6to7 psi on stock feuling no bother the tdo4 should have an adjustable actuator on it just extend the rod a bit and take it for a 3rd ger pull to check boost level leave the clip of so you can do it multiple times Quote
ChrisLeeBoost Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 Make up a fitting on sump for oil return? Where does the oil feed come from? Extend the rod on actuator by about 5mm would that be sufficient? What clip mate? Cheers for reply Quote
5e colin Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 you boostig a 4efe ??? if so a bung needs welding to the sump and oil feed will have to come from oil pressure sensor or fit 4efte oil filter relocator ( oil feed to turbo to ) the clip on the end of the actuator arm needs to come off so you can unclip the actu arm and rotate it outwards by loosening the 10mm nut on the arm Quote
ChrisLeeBoost Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 4efte mate is there already an existing Bung for oil return? I see so just weld a small bit extra into the arm to adjust the boost? Quote
5e colin Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 if its 45efte then there is a return bung on the sump has your actuator a 10mm nut on the end of the arm ?? Quote
ChrisLeeBoost Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 No mate just an open end on the rod that goes into the pivot thing on turbo, there's a sort of circlip on the pivot thing on the turbo to hold the rod of the actuator on Quote
5e colin Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 so it aint an adjustable 1 you can weld in an adjuster on the arm like an inch long nut ( m6 ) and an inch long threaded bar ( m6 ) Quote
ChrisLeeBoost Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 If I run external wastegate with .6 Spring will I not need boost controller? I can just run it with fpr and fcd? Will I still need adjustable actuator or modified actuator in this case? Quote
5e colin Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 no external gate elimimate actuator ( penny in turbo gets welded shut ) Quote
