starlybruiser
I Was recently looking at the de-restricting the boost in 1st and 2nd gear post and im looking for some added performance so i was wondering if this is a good thing to do?? is it safe? and mostly will it damage anything, have many of you done it?? cheers starlybruiser ;)
Glanza Al
As far as I know most people have done it. I did it ages ago and have never had any mechanical difficulties to do with it or because of it. You will notice the difference so be careful with it mate. It disables the boost solenoid that limits the boost to 0.4 bar in 1st and 2nd. Allowing the full 0.6 bar in all gears.Cheers,Alex.
Glanza_Ragger
Its handy with 2nd gear unrestricted.1st gear will spin alot, if you dont feather the throttle lightly.Obviously slam ya foot down and its just gonna burn through the tarmac and not go anywhere lol
ecksjay
never found that in mine tbh, but obviously skilled throttle control is something you learn, i would never just give it beans in first or make it spin up as i knew how to drive it without doing so, thus it just came naturally, although if i gave it to anyone else to drive it'd just like, dig holes.my s14 does the same, but at the other end, first few gears are useless ;/wangan ftw
