oil pressure warning situation

my oil pressure warning light started to remain on when i start the car but only for 2-3 seconds,when i switch off, & restart its off immediatly,so i have the oil pump change & still take 2-3 secs to switch of on the 1st start,do i need to worry,what might cause it to do this thnks

have you a mechanics oil pressure gauge to test your pomp ??

Might be a faulty pressure switch.

dont know but when i have one around i connect it when i have some free time & check how much it is

ya but look up the service spec online or in a book of what it does hot cold and at sertain rpm etc etc there is more to it then just hooking the gauge to it

been checking online & the 2-3secs delay can be cause by the pressure switch

yes i have the spec,will leave it for future reference

Oil pressure:

Non-VVT-i engines:

At idle speed................................................................................... 0.29 bar min

At 3000 rpm.................................................................................... 2.45 to 4.9 bar
