Ruddi444
Wanted my car as short shift as possible really, but after fitting my Ignis sport seats the position is slightly higher up than standard, is this a good option? I don't want massive throws was planning on fitting trd shifter in future is this just shorter in length or is the mechanism below make it shorter throws so it could still be short throws with a long extension? Any advice would be great thanks!
StuDoc 72
You want your seat as low as possible, personally. Modern hatches all sit up high and they are awful. Short shifters work be elongating the mechanism below the pivot point essentially making less movement at the top of the gearstick cover more distance at the bottom therefore shortening the shift. Adding an extension to the gearstick obviously makes the distance you need to throw it further physically but may have it at a more comfortable height.
Ruddi444
Okay mate thanks for response! So adding extension to a trd shifter would still be beneficial?
Calum122
I bought a Hypersport short shifter, wouldn't want it much shorter than that, is LOVELY. Although it was then out done by the JDM-EP Gear knob extension so it's back to being long throw.
