Pete_A Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I maybe gettin on abit, but, when we always did it it was an amp half the watt of the sub? Like home hi-fi. Cause if you run a 1200w sub with a 2400w amp your just gona blow the sub, also a quality amp even at less wattage will sound better. I believe... Quote
Calum122 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 No mate, the Sub will only draw the power it needs. The sub will clip if it doesn't have enough power and will end up damaging the Sub. Always have head room when it comes to speakers. Remember that you're interested in the RMS value not necessarily the peak value! Quote
