patman
just noticed lately when going over small or uneven road surfaces the car does scrap on the tyres please could someone tell me if this would be the springs or the shocks monies tight at the minute after doing the engine rebuild and changing a few bits so what's the cheapest but still good springs or shocks out there for an ep82 gt turbo thankyou Pat.The car is definitely lowered I would say 40mm springs
daniel_g
I get this aswell on the OSF, its the shock absorber.Unless your lowering spring is broken, or very worn and saggy. 9 outta 10 times its the shocker.
patman
That's right mate I'm getting it too drivers side front and drivers side back was just wondering where you can get shocks from for a good price Or good second hand pair.At the weekend gonna try and see what I've actually got on there as never checked since had the car, Edited May 26, 2015 by patman
daniel_g
Wouldnt bother buying used shock absorbers because god knows how old they will be.Can get KYB ones from camskill i think, theyre OEM replacements, so not uprated.
patman
That's fine mate haven't got to be uprated at this moment of time just something that does the job for now, do you know Daniel please if you can actually tell what spring size are on the car by looking at them Edited May 26, 2015 by patman
daniel_g
There might bw writing on some makes of springs, but chances are the paint will have flaked off.
patman
Thanks mate more expense as usual as you will know, I like the low ride but I hate that scrap seems to be scraping on the plastic arch bit above the wheels am sure you know what they are
patman
Just looked at my rear shocks and they areExcel-g kyb gas shock absorbers
daniel_g
Replacement set of 4 on camskill is roughly 180 quid.Just make sure 100% that it is the shockers that are away before splashing out. Do a bounce test at each corner and visually check for leaks.
