Am in need of a down pipe for my ep91 glanza. I've just got ct9. What would people recommend? What make etc? X

Mine has been stuttering in low revs as I slowly accelerate and I think mine is the timing so may be worth checking timing is correct x

I phoned a few places and they were all the same price so not sure if it was... I got new timing belt etc. They had to send the head off to get skimmed and then they put it all back together. Because I had got a few quotes I thought that was the norm?

I paid for the parts which were 300 then there labour was 800 inc vat. Also had to get an oil feed pipe. Aghhhh

Apparently they think it's the bottom end. New pistons and big end shells needed. They said I am only starting to notice it as I have had a new head gasket and the compression is a tad higher (something like that). Is this something that can happen? My car has always been a bit smokey and smelt of burnt oil but just seems to be worse after head gasket has been done.

I've just bought a house and now having to pay out on all of this can't believe it!

Oh I have never heard of this before? What pipes and where? I will inform garage tomorrow.

Need some help please... I have recently had my head gasket changed, new valve stem seals etc but now it's still running like shit and if anything it's worse than when I put it in the garage. It is going back tomorrow but wanted thoughts / ideas on it anyway.

So it's smoking when I put my foot down and smells of burning oil or over fuelling possibly and it's juddering mainly in second or third in low revs. I've just spent over 1200 on it and am worrying about why it's running like this!?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated x

No cant remember it having black bumper. My brother saw the guy a few days after and spoke to him, still not sure who he is and seen him a couple of times now x

I was told about rob ripping u off, I never knew he was like that but as previously mentioned it is weird how he broke it very quickly and got very shirty with people when they asked why etc!

I did have loads to sort out before the weekend but Mine has decided it doesn't want to go and has packed up!! Think it's the head gasket, I will still be coming but will be at the back of the stand in a yaris (at least it's still Toyota )

Have done all of the above. It's possible there could be an air lock but as I'm running out of time it's at the garage tomorrow to get head gasket checked etc so hoping they find the problem.

Well my gauge slowly creeps up? The fan is working but temp doesn't drop. It's annoying as it only does is in traffic, I've sat outside my house for ages and the temp gauge didn't move but as soon as I get in stop start traffic the gauge creeps. I put my heater on full and it dropped after that and also when traffic started moving it also dropped.

Yeah it's still jap lol. Ok hopefully it won't come to that but worse case scenario! X

I'm having over heating problems with my car and if it's not fixed by the 16th then I can't risk sitting in that much traffic... Can I just come in my boyfriends car? Does is matter it's not a starlet?

UPDATE-

Changed the thermostat... Was in quite a bit of traffic today and it started to over heat slightly again. The fan is kicking in so just don't know what to check / change next??

Thanks. After looking today there wasn't any coolant in the top hose of rad... I topped the rad up (took about a pint and a half-ish) then ran it a bit more and fan came on fine.

I'll change thermostat to be on safe side.

I'm guessing it's just where it had lost a bit of coolant maybe?

I've had real problems with radiators / fans in the last few months. First if all my aluminium rad had a slight leak in this (it had the original fan) so I changed both of these to a half size aluminium rad and slimline fan then had problems with the fan not working (personally I think it was just bad luck) so changed to another fan which hasn't been too bad but sat in a tiny bit of traffic today and the temp slowly started to creep, I could hear the fan cut in and out though so I don't think it's broken... Luckily traffic started to move and once I started driving it went back to normal.

I'm going to check coolant in the actual rad and whether the fan is defo working properly tomorrow as it's too dark to see now. But if that's not bad could this poss be my thermostat not opening?

Well you didn't see him race it but there had been a complaint about him racing around a car park so they seized it?
