I might be able to get hold of the import na ecu so would just run that for a start. Was it just the intake and Ecu that was different in the import cars? Seems like easy cheap gains for a start and I know 90hp wouldn't exactly set the world alight but it's better than 76
-
Nice one cheers buddy. I'll be getting an emanage blue in the future so that should maximise the gains as I've heard these uk spec engines are easy to get near 100bhp. Plus then when I bolt a turbo to it I'll already have the Ecu sorted. Are there any alternatives to the emanage blue price and performance wise?
-
Is it a straight swap? And does the Ecu self learn?

Is it worth me getting a Corolla Inlet mani? And is it a straight swap?

Will the cooling panel fit an NA??

Thanks buddy it's v v well cared for and is going to get treated to a good going over next week- all service parts, belts, cambelt kit, crystal lights and I managed to track down the late spec glanza seats like I said I won't be going over the top with anything, the idea is for everything to look like it was factory fitted Oh and the exhaust is hopefully getting done too. I'll update with pics when things start happening

Got answers on all of the bove now thanks

Are you suggesting that the engine in my starlet isn't as thoroughbred as vtec ha ha ;) Hmm that's worrying if it was meant to be a track day oil though and meant for that purpose. Like I said though I was running my 403bhp forged gt4 on Halfords stuff and it was perfect. It did get changed every 3k though
-
Defo the way forward do you ever use Halfords oil then?
-
50% off bulbs and over a third off oil. I used to run my forged gt4 on Halfords oil so surely the starlet would be ok?
-
Thanks for the replies guys, i've got a trade card so will get some this weekend will keep it on semi synth i think.
-
Hi all, i'm looking to do my own filter and oil changes on the SR and was wondering what oil people would recommend? A friend has suggested 10w40 semi synth. Thanks Jase
-
What oil is everyone running in the na's? I've been recommended 10w40 part synth by a friend. Also was wondering if servicing parts are the same for the glanza and na's such as timing belt kit, water pump, oil filter, crank seal etc? I'm going to get all that done for peace of mind

I've found a nice pair of seats and a dash but that's it so far. They don't come up often do they. I know mate and that's what I've done but if I got a rough one I'd only want to make it mint I guess
-
Thanks v much for the nice comments I've been searching for a good one for ages to be honest. Best keep the fogs then hadn't I ha ha.

Spoke to a friend at work today who's got another friend in exhaust fabrication so hopefully getting it booked in soon for a stainless back box with the tte tail pipe welded on. Was looking through the history properly and it has every old mot and v5 too. I feel I might have got one that's too good as I drove to tescos today and parked miles away from anyone else!
-
Oh yeh I mean they can obv be had for dirt cheap and I was considering it but I wanted one that had good bodywork as I don't know anyone in the trade so would have to pay top wack. Mechanical things don't really bother me within reason as I'm a mechanic. But because I wanted a mint bodied one it kind of means that the mechanical stuff is sorted too I guess. I just don't know if I've dropped a bit of a bollock because it's so nice I worry about where to park it etc ha ha. The interior is dreadful isn't it but I keep thinking I might just keep it completely standard so depends how I feel over
-
any pics of yours? mileage etc? he was a hard seller to be honest and i guess i didn't really hide the fact that i loved it and had been looking for a long time.he did actually do it for 1300 but it needs a cambelt so it's the asking price really to be honest. I've posted up a thread on it in the ep91 na owners forum.

they have grown on me today as have the ambers think i'll just swap the main headlights for crystals. Also found out today that it's got the Toyota factory audio upgrade kit- Original CD player with parcel shelf speakers
-
Ha are you the other guy who was interested? He wouldn't budge at all
-
The exhaust is the only thing letting it down at the moment. I am tempted to leave the ambers and will think about it but I definately wont be changing much. Thanks for the heads up Morgey, v happy to finally find a decent one. Thanks for all the nice comments Oh and I don't like the fogs but def can't remove them if they're original!

Better and I'm not saying that because I bought it but it's v v tidy. The interior and engine bay both need good cleans though
