All sorted, it was only firing on 3 cylinders. He did a compression test, he said it was all fine. All the spark plugs were sparking, but we changed them all to be sure, and that's what fixed it.

On the way home from work my Glanza made a weird noise that I can't quite describe.
The car seems very juddery at times, as if it's going to stall. Also the turbo seems non-existent now and only briefly appears. The car struggles to get up slight inclines, feels very under powered. My turbo gauge also doesn't know what it's doing now.
My mate who is my mechanic is going to have a good look at it later, but just want to tell him what to check and look for.
Thanks in advance.

If i had a Garage....

Sadly a coach ride would be 11h 50mins from me apparently sounds like death. GLWS
-
Same as above.... I have £2500 just sitting around waiting for the right Glanza, but most I see are light years away from me.

That's cheap , and yeah I've checked my insurance and they do imports. Just need to wait for the right car to fall into my lap now. Most I see are in East England, hopefully it won't take too long.
-
Ah good stuff i'll ring my insurance company tomorrow and have a chat about it. And then..... play the waiting game.
-
I'll try not to rush into things..... but my Insurance runs out on the 16th. If I buy a years insurance on my current car, is it possible to change it over to a new one half way through the policy?
-
I'm very much in the market for one around this price range too, but sadly i'm way to far away. Dammit why couldn't I live in central England near everything!!
-
I guess i'll keep looking seems too risky was £1500, there's a Glanza near me that looks quite nice http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/starlet/toyota-starlet-glanza-v-1-3-turbo/1924398 may get more information on that instead.
I'll keep my eyes out on here, but all seem to be miles away, and I'm currently car less and it's a bit tricky to reach all the ones across the ol'bridge.
-
He said the ODO says 120,000 miles, and that its a mixture between Miles and KM so its 80,000 roughly. Interestingly he said he had it from when it came into the UK. Very strange, very strange.
-
Well, that is very interesting that he has understated the mileage by 20,000+. Also never had a car with a LSD so don't know what to expect. I'll go view it on the weekend and question the mileage to see what he says.
-
Yeah it is , was there anything major wrong with it when it left you, or anything I should know about before buying?
-
Would've had it if it was on PS4, my PS3 is all packed away, so can't be bothered to get it all back out.
-
OK really interested in buying this car, but don't wanna buy a duff one as my first Starlet?
So is this anyone on here, or does anyone know of it?
The specs are as follows:
Specs:
Mot till July 2014
Tax end of May 2014
Mileage: around 80,000 obviously some of it was done in km being an import.
Td04 turbo (off Subaru)
Front mount intercooler
Wepr evolution manifold and external waste gate blank.
Td04 actuator set at safe 0.6 bar but can run low boost for daily use.
Decat and full stainless exhaust system
LSD gearbox with apc 3 piece clutch
Jperformace half size rad
Sparco alloys with brand new refurb in blood red with good tyres all round
Carbon wrapped roof
Lowered 40mm all round
Oil catch can
Respray in frozen white.
No smoke on boost or using any fluids
Interior:
Sony headunit
Momo deep dish wheel
Turbo timer
Boost gauge
Gt seats
D1 spec carbon gearknob
Bad points:
Every car has them, rad fan needs wiring in switch (doesn't overheat) blowers only work when driving. -
-
Not far at all, only seen a few Starlets driving Swansea around from what I have seen, the most memorable had a Pedo Bear on the roof . How many members are there from this mildly interesting city?

Didn't want to start a thread but viewing my first Starlet this weekend and want to know what you guys think its worth. Here's its specs.
