  1. Hello guys this may sound stupid, has at anyone ever had a smoke down test on any of there cars to check for vac leaks, (I'm sure I got a little one somewhere) and I don't really want to pay out 700 odd quid for the machine, I suppose I'm asking what sort of garages do this type of thing as I been searching the net and can't seem to find why category this would come under, any info would be a great help please guys, and also for peace of mind, due to work commitments at the moment I seriously don't have time to start taking pipes off etc. a quick test should see what's what, thanks lads Pat

  2. Thanks for the write up roach much appericated, little update, after we welded up the blow bit where it was cracked it went back to the mot and they still failed it on lambda emissions, as everyone knows you need to get between 97 and 103, I got 104 dam it, originally it was on 1.12 before the weld and then once that crack was done went to 104,

Anyway thought sod this and just put a universal sports cat on (welded in) back to the mot and straight through it went, co levels were very low, hc levels very low, and no problem with the lambda one,

although it's a sports cat I'm still thinking the car has now been restricted alittle bit

  3. Thankyou Daniel mate appericate this, I need to see his mot book for myself he went into a room and didn't return for 15 mins after so god knows what his looking at in there, when I go back I will ask did he do a non cat test last time, but then obviously seems like he didn't due to the results at the end thanks mate

  4. Thankyou for helping guys really appericate this do I actually need a lambda test? I'm on my phone Daniel so can't really see them results, and

On potters one it seems like I don't even need a cat test done, I just need to give him a positive response and say there you go, obviously there is a crack that needs sorting on my back box area which I know will make it go higher but that will be sorted for the part retest on Monday

  5. Found this on line just wondering if anyone can confirm it bearing in mind mine is a 1993 import, and the emissions is the question here, all other checks when they put the pole in the exhaust pasted.

Also my car is not on the annex list.

  6. Thanks guys, Colin mate I am getting that sorted within the next few days as to be fair there is a nice crack there with black soot around it, also I haven't got a cat either,

Gainzy mate this is what I thought aswell being a 93 import but when I go back I need to get these facts right and say you did hear me last time say it was a import also I noticed when they held the throttle on for 3 minutes is it, they done it to 3k revs

  7. Just wondering if anyone could please give me some tips please here,

I had the "exhaust emissions lambda reading 7.3.d.3" today on the mot sheet yes I am pretty pissed at th moment as my car since I had it as always passed it's not.

Ok on "after second fast idle it ended up being 1.12 and I know the limit is 1.03, so now I need to figure out how to get this down, my GT is a 1993 with decat on, lambda sensor is only just over a year old, on the back box hanger there is a crack with black soot around it, (would that course it to be much higher than 1.03?) I told him it was an import so it didn't need a cat being a 1993, just trying to shred some light on this please guys, and if any of you have had higher emission readings before how did you get them down please as need to get car back and retested.

    Thanks Pat

  8. As title states please guys, any one done the both the reverse lights on the ep82 GT turbo mine only have the rear passenger reverse light but would like to get the other side going aswell, just wondering if anyone's done it and what procedure was taken, obviously first step would need a reverse bulb holder, thanks lads
