  2. they were for a couple of days but its working fine again now, blows hot within minutes. hmm. auto all day long mate Basildon mate. are there any local meets? and do you know of any specialists in Essex? most of the work was done at TD but Warrington is a bit of a mission from here.
  3. weirdly, the heaters started working again today after two days of non-warmth?! So I'm guessing it's a loose connections somewhere instead of anything too serious. Full Cat1 security fitted today I will actually get some pics up soon, I know that a progress blog without any pics is pretty dull.
  4. Alright guys, I took my Glanza to Edition38 VW show recently. As I drove in, one of the marshalls started talking to me about my car and told me that his mate had built one pushing just under 500bhp from what he was saying it's up north somewhere, maybe Newcastle way. Anyone know anything about it? Is it on here?
  5. No need, I drive like a granny most of the time. But yeah, it's a handful at times
  6. Never! The auto box is a dream! I've never owned an auto before, I didn't really know what to expect, but I love it! spec list taken from Iamlegend's advert for those who may not know the car...
  7. alreet pet, way ay mun, canny, byker grove... Now that's out of my system I can begin To cut a short story even shorter, I had been looking around for a nice old VW for a while, maybe a mk1 Golf with a 20vt conversion, mk2 Golf VR6 etc, but I just couldn't find anything that really ticked all the boxes. There were a few things that I had my eye on, but people were asking ridiculous money for cars that weren't worth anywhere near the asking prices. I've always had a soft spot for jap hatches after owning a Charade GTti many many years ago, which was great fun. I'm expecting my firs
  8. Thanks guys. I didn't go to view that one on Pistonheads. I did, however, take a little trip up to Newcastle on Friday evening, and returned home with Iamlegends's black Glanza the quickest car I had ever driven before that was a 100bhp Charade GTti, so you can imagine my reaction when I had a little play on the M1 on the way home... holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. It's a beast.
  9. cool thanks guys, well I'm off to check it out tomorrow so I'll feed back when I'm back. anyone know of any jap/glanza specialists in Essex? cheers.
  10. definitely, I've had this a few times recently - massive spec lists but no real evidence to back it up. "my mate did most of the work so I haven't got receipts" etc, hmm. true, awesome cars remain for sale for aaaaages on the VAG forums, I guess nothing much is selling quickly at the moment.
  11. oh ok, is that a bad sign? do you know if anyone from this forum checked it out?
  12. hey all, I'm new here, I've come from a VAG background so please be gentle I'm going to look at this tomorrow afternoon... http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/starlet/toyota-starlet-sun-roof-glanza-v-forged-5e-1998/1513473 I don't really have any jap experience apart from a Charade GTti about 15 years ago, which was awesome. two things - 1, what do you think of the car? does it sound good? the spec on paper seems pretty impressive to me but I'm going in blind, I've never driven a Glanza or have any experience of them. and 2) do you know of any jap specialists in Es
