Contact Details: 07840 040425 or medium2rare25@yahoo.co.uk or PM me Description: 96 P reg Glanza V, in black, auto box. It was a very well known car on the UKStarlets forum, I bought it just under two years ago and I can safely say it's been (by far) the best car I have ever owned. The only reason I'm selling is due to needing a bigger, more practical (aka boring) car now that I have a family. Apa
  2. Hi guys, I'm looking to sell my Glanza V (Iamlegend's old car, you probably know it) but I tried to post in the classifieds and it said you have to be a full member to use this..... so how do I go about achieving full member status? Cheers.
  3. My Glanza is going up for sale soon, just putting the word out there for now. Will start a proper for sale thread soon and get some fresh pics up. Cheers
  4. Thanks fella, might take you up on that. still havent got it sorted but to be honest I havent looked at it again since last time.
  5. Anyone know of a good auto electrician in Essex area? A few electrical gremlins have surfaced recently... 1) No rear lights. Brake lights and indicators seem to be ok but nothing else (including fog and reverse) 2) Dash has stopped lighting up. 3) No side lights, only main and full beam are working. Perfect timing for the winter nights

  7. here is the report I got back from Quest Motorsport today, have a read... "Received car in a non running condition. On trying to start the car it was very apparent that there was a compression problem. 1. carry out compression test , found pressure of 45 , 0 , 60 , 150 psi respectively from cylinder 1 on wards. 2. carry out cylinder leakdown test to determine if the problem was head or block related , cylinder leakage was 75 , 100 , 70 , 20% respectively from cylinder 1. 3. remove cylinder head , first observation head torque was no where near the 60 ft lbs specified by ARP. Once head
  8. it didn't fully go bang, it just needed a bit of work to get it going again!
  9. I'm up for this, just got mine back from Quest so keen to drive it again after 4 weeks off the road. haven't been to Bluewater since the old Prept VW meets back in the day, where does everyone head to? House of Fraser car park??
  10. before I forget... can anyone recommend an uprated gearbox mount? mine still runs the original and there is a LOT of engine movement under load. cheers.
  11. wow I've done really well with this thread haven't I? Had the car for just over a year and I've managed about 2 posts and zero photos, good work I moved house about a month ago and after a year of totally faultless performance and reliability, the V decided it was time to die... on moving day, on the way to collect the keys for the new crib. perfect timing. I left my house, started fine, driving as normal, got to a roundabout and pulled away when it suddenly lost all power and started spluttering. pulled over, just about ticking over, engine rocking like crazy, turned it off, wouldn't sta
  12. Broke down yesterday afternoon at 3pm, still sat with the car at 11pm last night when they decided to 'cancel' my recovery and tell me to try again tomorrow. Its getting fuel and a spark but won't start.I need to get it trailered to a garage but not sure where (its in Basildon) I rang ATSpeed in Rayleigh but they haven't got the diagnostics needed. Any suggestions for other specialist places in Essex? Thanks. If I've posted this in the wrong place then could a mod please move it, thanks.
  13. thanks guys, at least I know what I can do to check it now. Cheers.
  14. took my Glanza in for it's MOT today and I've hit a few problems already... 1) the horn hasn't been working for a while, I pre-warned the guy about it, he's had a look but can't find the problem. 2) my back number plate fell off driving to the garage today, I need a replacement (smaller square rear plate) asap but can't find anyone in Southend area who does them 3) the doesn't have a rear fog, he can't pass it without one. What are my options? horn - any suggestions? is it a common problem? plate - anyone know anywhere in southend/Essex or online who can make me a plate quickly? fo
  15. I spoke to a guy at ID Workz and they didn't have anything in stock, I need to get this sorted asap really.
  16. I've got a P reg Glanza V with a TD04 conversion, as you know space for an air filter is pretty tight down there. Can anyone recommend a small filter that fits directly to the turbo... if not, any good kits out there with fitting bits and pipes to house the filter away from the turbo? thanks in advance x
  17. thanks Kyle, so it has to be from Photobucket? I can't use Flickr?
  18. what are my options for uploading photos on here? I have a Flickr account, is that any good? or do I have to use Photobucket? also, are there any step by step guides for uploading pics anywhere? I've been on edition38 for about 7 years and I still struggle with uploading

  20. where does everyone hang out? I went to lakeside last Saturday for a look around, hardly any cars out, pretty dead. unless I was in the wrong area? yes mate, do you work near Pulse? the guys in there said someone came in and showed an interest, I'm guessing it was you! I'm hardly ever out in the car tbh, had a baby 2 weeks ago so I've been flat out being a dad! did pop to Lakeside last weekend but not much going on. you going this Saturday?
  21. apologies for the lack of updates or pics, I feel kind of slack as I've been super busy with family stuff, too much going on to wash it/get pics/do anything constructive... but rest assured I've been out there driving it and enjoying it! I'm not a flat out thrasher but I have an occasional reserved play and it never fails to amaze/scare me. good thorough detail next week, maybe a bit of paint and bodywork on the horizon too.
  22. how did I not see this? gutted! Lakeside is my local haunt.
  23. brilliant, thanks fella. yeah keep me posted, would be good to meet up with some fellow Glanza owners in the area.
