Nice, will be looking into doing something like this, quite impressed with the car so far so naturally want to improve it a bit.

thinking of bike carbs and light weight, do not yet know if this will work but will see.
It is a great base platform and don't usually run with the pack, ideal no limit a 190bhp celica vvti, 1.5 yaris, vvti, i have come from mostly vw's and there is so much you can do with relitivly little so going to see how it goes.
really impressed so far!
cheers

Has anyone tried some CBR 600 carbs or any equivalent, loads of peeps do these to vw polo' na's with really good results, custom inlet mani with bike carb's(independent throttle bodies) and get rid of fuel injection?

Picked up a very nice starlet sr from a freedomcore today, it is really a nice example and exactly as described which was a breath of fresh air.
Don't have any plans for the car as yet but will be reading up on what will best serve my budget, just want a nice sleeper and as it is such a nice base it seems worth giving it some love(no tail pipe jokes)

just been informed it is the crank seal pulley that is leaking.
Anyone know what it will need to fix it or if anyone else has had this happen and what was the remedy?
Could a simple bodge be ok for now and still provide me with a good few thousand happy miles and what would be the result of not getting this fixed, sorry for all the Q's but really want this SR.
Cheers

Thanks for the welcome hope to have a nice starlet soon, it has just had the timing belt changed so why this was left out i am going to have to enquire about.
He says he tops up the oil every couple of months, the car i have at the mo drinks no oil whatsoever, so is it usual for the 4efe to burn a little oil?
A few of my old polo's leaked a little from the cam cover gasket but only a couple of drips a week, i just want to know if it is going to lead to an expensive repair as i will wait for the next one to come up.
Cheers

Hey peeps, been after a nice starlet sr for a while, one has come up from this guy, http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/71983-1998-starlet-sr/
The car looks great but i am worried about the oil leak, says he suspects it is the crank case seal.
Is this a normal problem for starlets, anyone else had a similar problem and how did you fix it.
Will replacing the crank case seal be a big job and how much it may cost.
Really want this car but do not want to buy a turkey.
Cheers

No have been lumbering about in a nissan almera(1999 1.4) for the last 4 years so itching to get more bang for buck with my driving experience, hope to do some tame track days but also keep as a daily for now, the 5e sounds the best route as it is just a swap as you say, maybe g6 6 speed box too, se how it go's
