  1. I guess we'll be organising convoys closer to the date?

I'll be happy to arrange one for the West Midlands heading South, I'm 5 minutes away from M6 Junction 10 which is a pretty major route, so could meet a fair few people there, get on the M5 at Junction 8 then head South as a big group :)

  2. I'm tempted, but I have zero track experience yet so probably won't bother....

Are you all buying tickets for the same sessions?

Maybe a mod could get a list together once people start booking so we know who is doing what session etc..

Also if anyone is willing, I'd buy a passenger ticket - could be an option for anyone willing to offer their passenger seat?

  3. 30ml would do a full Starlet easily, if not twice. I've a 200ml jar of Purple Haze, done 7-8 full coats of various hatchbacks and have probably used 20% of it max.

You can really use any of their waxes, they all work, but if you want a colour charged one, I'd suggest maybe Blue Velvet for 8K9.

It's also a hard wax, which means you can apply it with your fingers!

Make sure the car is properly cleaned, clayed and polished. Then apply with the fingers, sounds strange but it's a great way to do it and really gets a proper application. Do a panel at a time, work it in well then let it cure, I think I wait around 15-30 mins, so it's a good time to do your windows etc.

Then buff it off with a good clean microfibre and admire the shine! It's great stuff, but the results are also in the prep work, the wax is just the icing on the cake.

It lasts really well too, very durable so you shouldn't need to top it up too often, maybe 3-6 months depending on various factors - if you're washing the car a lot due to the winter filth then it will degrade quicker, but it's still a comparatively durable wax.

You can use quick detailer, after a wash I'd top mine up with DD Tropical Mist spray and it did bring back that extra bit of 'pop' each time, this was on a black car too so the differences were very noticeable.

    Hope that's useful to you.

  4. Literally anything. He could buy a tonne of stuff from the Japanese equivalent of Halfords, bring it back and sell it for a fortune cause it's JDM

Not just car stuff though, if he can get his hands on any mange, anime, collectibles etc, they all fetch a premium over here.

Or even some used panties from one of those vending machines?

  5. Only minor updates so far.

Managed to detail it a few weeks ago, washed, de-tar, de-iron and a quick all-in-one on the paint, as I haven't had time yet to clay and machine polish it. Some pics:

Iron removal (lots!), that's not rust in the second pic, it's a bit off a plant cause it was proper windy:

Didn't do a lot after that as I've been really busy, the battery completely died so I replaced that recently and fired her back up, just been taking it on the evenings for quick blasts :)

Been changing the bulbs. I ordered 4 of those 'xenon look' LED sidelight / number plate bulbs, which are rubbish, so I'm now waiting for two pairs of 9-SMD ones, should be much better!

Ordered some Silvatecs for the front, and last night fitted my Osram Nightbreakers, which I'm impressed with!

Much better, can't moan for £12!

Big plans for the new year :)

  6. Rumours have been flying around for a while that Toyota are planning on releasing a further 2 RWD sports cars, one to sit above the GT86 (presumably the Supra reincarnation) and one to sit below it - suggestions for that one on a post card..

  7. This is road tax money at it's finest lol! They're happy to take the £ but don't fix no roads with it. Piss take man.

Just to address this firstly.. Road Tax doesn't exist, it's Vehicle Excise Duty we pay, which is base don emissions, and the money goes into the general pot, it doesn't pay for roads.

OP, bad luck. Typically it's a council road, but due to the nature of the defect (it's more of a depression than pot hole) it seems quite clear what happened, the depression caused your wheel to be pulled towards the curb while taking the corner, damaging your wheel.

I'd say certainly get down to the council, print off all the photos of the defect, the curb, your wheel etc on A4 sheets, type out a description of what happened etc, and try to claim compensation.

Depression like that should be addressed immediately, they're especially dangerous for cyclists.

You can see from the rest of the pic that the surface itself isn't too old, I'd say 5-7 years? But if it's a heavily trafficed junction and if you've got HGV's and buses turning and screwing on it, those joints get ripped apart pretty quickly.

Good luck anyway, hopefully you'll get a result from them.
