I am having the exact same problem and I found out that my head unit was wired different too the starlet one have a look if you have a stereo owners guide might tell you with wires are witch on your head unit plug and then match them too the starlets one on my starlet I have Red-live Yellow-ignition live Brown-earth Might be some help if none

The smd festoons do hold a bit of charge in them when not in use as I found out from previous use doesn't effect the battery at all really just dosent look clean and oem with a tong glow still there and if you find the festoon size can you let me know aswel I need one ASAP haha and you got one in your front interior light god knows what them type of bulbs are

Yeah a tried thinners on the trims erm well it melted the original plastic so it's new interior for me lol worth a try tho

Yeah I've heard the manual boxes fit straight onto the 4e engine just need pedal box and clutch wire or bits etc but thanks for the advice now I know how too run it better in quick blasts cheers

So manu and over drive on for nice motorway drives and total opposite for racing etc and in your opinion would you change too a manual box Not too keen on this auto and thanks very much guys

Yeah I have over drive on all the time makes it change down early when cruising and better when a boot it and also has anuva button just above park but it's in Japanese so carnt read it lol
