  1. Haha awesome man! I got super lucky on Thurs, went into a job agency to sign up and as luck would have it a company in the same building as them needed someone. Got an interview set-up then and there, got the job on the spot and I start on Thurs!! Time to pay off some student debt/save for my road trip/spend on the GT! Wooop!

  2. I get this too; the actuator is applying enough force on the wastegate flap to keep it closed, but its the wastegate penny that is rattling up and down. You can hear a faint rattle but if you grab the actuator arm and hold it in place the rattle stops.

  3. If I had that much money I wouldnt have bloody 10 of the same car!! B)

    Must be a GT3 RS meet :p

Pretty cool though, and thats the only porsche I would safely say I would own :p

I have a GT2 here just gathering dust, but seeing as you don't want it I guess I'll just scrap it... :p

  4. Update:

Got it on the dyno, but my manifold had 2 nasty cracks in it. Still managed to pull 129WHP. Since then I've bought a few bits/changed a few things:

Tweaked the air intake, looks a bit like a cannon now lol

Some pics of the cracked stainless:

Bought a SPS mild steel manifold, wrapped it and fitted it!

Wow! What a difference its made! My turbo spools up so much better than before and I have full boost at like 2.5k lol. Before it was like 3.5! (my mani was leaking). Feels more responsive as well! Very good purchase!

    Polished my RX cooler today:

FMIC purchased. Bought this off a member on here, should be with me tomorrow!

Update (01/05/09) FMIC is on! Went to DanEP82 Tuning in Eastbourne, the lad there did some cracking work!:lol:

  5. GT_Matchew from sutton coldfield made 191 bhp on a ct9 at 1 bar with emanage so its achievable.

As for mapping you could try weston performance but im getting mine done by Nick @ Tuning Developments.

Yeah but he had a fairly low mileage engine/turbo! Not to mention he had a good setup all looked after by an eManage! Also if you're looking for 190/200, hybrid is definitely the way to go! If you did manage to peak 190 out of a normal CT9 I doubt it would last much longer! Also dub7 made 200+ on a CT9, but with a fully rebuilt engine and ported head, and again I'm sure that CT9 was strained to its limits!

Last question for now as I don't want to go into it to much because it's atleast 12-14 months before I get a GT, but which of the mods I posted above would I be able to do straight away without the problem of boost creep and fuel cut?

I know the actuator needs to be set to 12psi (somewhere around 0.8 bar?) to avoid fuel cut.

If I was to port the wastegaste first before anything else would this mean I could stop worrying about boost creep, and just do whatever mods and run it at 12psi?

Fuel cut is around 12-13-ish Psi yeah, so you'd need to set it below that. It would be a great idea to port the wastegate before doing anything, and run a nice steady 12ish Psi without massive amounts of creep. Very good idea in fact!

  6. I doubt you'll make 190 on an old CT9 with an old engine tbh mate. Over on the Aus Starlet Club they are chuffed to make 150whp on a CT9 setup, so be happy with 170/180 at the fly.

Spec list looks OK, but if I were you I'd buy an eManage or even a Unichip as opposed to spending £500 on a JAM ECU. You can pick up 2nd hand emanages (and espeically unichip's) for fairly cheap, even with mapping on top it would only just be more expensive than a JAM and will probably give you much better results!

    Just my 2p.

  7. X2 a gt is the logical choice.

modifying at times can be a total nightmare.. and needlessly expensive.

my advice would be to spend ages looking for the right gt pre taylored to you with the right amount of choice mods thats been well looked after,

then you have the best base to work on. you have all the time in the world to find this car.

a fair few peeple have never experienced 1bar before which is a total crime. due to trying to pay for expensive first stage mods. (exhast, decat, mani etc)

    1Bar owns!

  8. The engine management light popped on for about 3 secs then went off and got all power back.

Basically, when i get my BCC, RRFPR, actuator and boost gauge on and fitted on Monday wont everything be fine?

I just really dont wanna kill it lol

Eeekkk! Fitting your BCS and FPR will make everything fine....if by fine you mean not fine! ^_^

You can use the BCC to remove fuel cut and then the FPR to increase fuelling to compensate for the extra boost. If you want to stop creep, look here: http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....&article=20

  9. Got some gay coursework due in on the 23rd, then my dissy/project on the 30th! Then 3 exams at the middle/end of May! WHY CAN'T IT JUST BE OVER! lol

PS. Whats Sparky's and wales_tuner's beef about?!
